In this video Chemometrician Robin Malm from FOSS discusses the practical aspects of making fresh forage analysis using NIR.
Because of the changing nature of samples, evaluating results is a challenge as samples taken on farm might change quite a bit before they get to the laboratory. The moisture content of samples is often critical when it comes to forage analysis using NIR. High moisture samples of forage change fast so when working with these it is important to make the analysis quickly before it changes character. When building calibration models for NIR analysis of high moisture forage samples it is important that the NIR analysis lies very close in time to the reference analysis as the sample might otherwise change in between. Find out much more below or and be sure to check out Robin Malm’s tips for developing NIR forage analysis calibrations.
